I had no idea what scrap copper prices per pound were, but I was bound and determined to find out after coming across a deal that was too good to pass up. One of my grandfather’s friends told me that if I cleared out some barns on his property, I could do whatever I wanted with the things that were in all three of them. He was just interested in having them cleaned out so he could have them ready for a property sale. I wanted to see what I was getting into before I committed, so I went out and did an inspection of the three barns he wanted cleared out.
I knew as soon as I opened the doors for the first barn that I was going to do it. There was a lot of scrap metal in the first barn, and I knew that I could take it all to a local scrap dealer and make a nice chunk of change on it. I looked at the second barn and came across the same thing. Most of the scrap came from old machines and tools that were no longer able to be useful for anything.
It was when I opened up the third barn that I knew I hit the jackpot. I wanted to find out immediately how much scrap copper is going for because there was a lot of it in this last barn. I have sold scrap metal in the past, so I knew that I would make a lot more off this than I had originally thought. I went online to get some prices on scrap copper and other metals, and I was happy to see that a scrap yard that is close to me had the best prices. It is going to take a lot of work to get the barns cleared out, but it is going to be so worth it too.
