Rep. Foster proposes fund to aid military families

Enlisting in our country’s armed forces is a courageous act of service and sacrifice. The brave men and women in our military deserve our country’s support and gratitude for their commitment to defending our freedom and protecting our safety. Yet, many military families struggle to meet their financial obligations when soldiers are deployed overseas or those in the reserves are called to active duty.

Rep. Foster recognizes the burden caused to soldiers by such sudden changes in their lifestyles and has proposed legislation to provide them financial relief. Modeled on a statewide program here in Illinois, the National Military Family Relief Fund would provide aid to military families in financial need. The program would be funded through tax-deductible donations from individual citizens who check off a box on their tax returns.
